GREYHOUNDS REPORT
Josh Loeffler enters his third season in charge at Loyola with the Greyhounds picked to finish 9th in the 10 team Patriot League. Loyola brings back six players that played significant minutes including starter Sam Springer. Loyola last posted a winning record in 2013.
WHAT'S AT STAKE?They Hoyas are trying to win their fourth straight season opener under Ed Cooley and fifth straight as a program. Cooley will get just one tune-up to look at his new additions – Jaland Lowe, Vyctorious Miller, Josiah Parker, Chol Machot, Elmarko Jackson – in official game action before the big local clash with Maryland on Saturday night.
Caleb Williams (8.8 ppg) and Kayvaun Muldready (5.4) return as the elder statesmen. Big man Vince Iwuchukwu (11.8) looks to be eligible as the season begins after a very uncertain offseason in that department.
