It's not uncommon for days, games, and series to start to blend together over a 162-game season. That said, there's always going to be certain moments that stand out as pivotal moments throughout a season.
For Cleveland Guardians manager Stephen Vogt, two games will always stand out when he looks back on the 2026 season.
June 13 vs. Detroit Tigers
In a span of one hour, the Guardians lost their three top hitters to injury . First, Chase DeLauter, then Angel Martinez, and finally Jose Ramirez.
Vogt joked that there's nothing in the managerial how-to guide book for navigating an in-game situation like the one Cleveland faced against the Detroit Tigers on that Saturday afternoon.
How unexpected and wild did it become? Well, Rhys Hoskins ended up playing left field with a ball immediately hit to him.
The Guardians also forfeited the designated hitter after Stuart Fairchild entered the field even though he started the game as Cleveland's designated hitter, forcing Slade Cecconi to take some practice swings in the batting cages just in case.
It was chaos in the dugout and on the field. Yet, the Guardians still found a way to win the game in the end.
Yes, the Guardians lost three of their best players in one afternoon, but that also set the stage for Cleveland to get a look at some of their young players in the organization, and that's what the Guardians manager focused on.
"I think that was a pivotal day of our season, because not only did we have to come together in a big way, and we also got the opportunity to watch a lot of our young players come up and get some opportunities, and that's gonna be a huge experience for them," said Cleveland's skipper.
Vogt isn't the only one who will immediately think of this game when people bring up the 2026 season in years to come.

September 16 vs. the Chicago White Sox
The second game Vogt will always think about when reflecting on last season will be Cleveland's victory over the Chicago White Sox on September 16.
Unexpected heroes are always necessary when a team is in the middle of a division race. The Guardians got just that in the form of a Petey Halpin three-run home run off left-hander Sean Newcomb on that Wednesday afternoon.
Halpin has never been known as a power hitter, yet he uncorked a ball with an exit velocity of 103.7 mph. He also had only two hits in 43 plate appearances against southpaws throughout the year.
The stats said there was no rhyme or reason for Halpin to hit a home run in that situation, but he did anyway, and it's one of the key reasons the Guardians went on to win the AL Central.
There are several other big moments from the season, but these two games will definitely be remembered.
