The Boston Red Sox have been dealing with an injury to Garrett Crochet , who has been out with a shoulder injury. He recently told reporters that he was feeling better, but things have taken a turn for the worse , according to Chris Cotillo of Mass Live.
" Garrett Crochet has had a setback, Chad Tracy says. Lat tightness has popped up in the last few days and they are halting his progression for now. He won't throw a live BP Tuesday as expected," Cotillo wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Crochet also spoke about the setback , and he didn't sound too happy about it.
"It feels like a very minor setback. It sucks to even call it a setback because it doesn't feel like it even deserves that title. But I won't be making the live on Tuesday, which sucks," Crochet said.
There's no question that Crochet was making real progress , and this past week, he had just faced hitters and was looking forward to doing more on the field.
"Another step, nice to check that box off," Crochet said after his live BP on Tuesday. "My bullpens were going pretty poorly (with mechanics) and I was like, 'Dude, I'm just not a bullpen guy.' So, it went good today. It's definitely a relief to have a hitter in the box, cranking intensity up a little bit and just be able to compete."
At this point, it's uncertain what the Red Sox will do as far as his recovery, but it doesn't sound like he'll be out for too long.
