ATLANTA – Georgia football looks like it will get back star safety KJ Bolden for Saturday's game against Florida.
The junior is warming up pregame in Mercedes-Benz Stadium with the Bulldog starters. He was upgraded on the SEC availability report as a game-time decision according to the report released 90 minutes before kickoff.
Bolden has been dealing with a lower right leg injury
Bolden's mother posted on Facebook on Friday night with a photo that included her son: "My Words to KJ '"'Do what you Do' Oh and Yeah he's playing!"
Bolden has 22 tackles, 2 tackles for loss and an interception with four pass breakups.
Wide receiver Isaiah Canion was spotted wearing a large brace on his right leg during warmups when he ran routes. He was listed as a game-time decision.
The Georgia Tech transfer hasn't played since the win at Arkansas in Week 3.
Georgia lost to Auburn 27-24 in its last game on Oct. 17 when Bolden was out.
East Carlina transfer Ja'Marley Riddle started in his place. He was in coverage along with Ellis Robinson on one touchdown pass in a game in which he had 6 tackles but also missed several more.
"I think KJ's a really phenomenal player," Sumrall said. "Has a lot of experience. He's a headsy guy, and you can tell that he has a lot of time on task in their defensive structure, but I would say, too, it wasn't like they don't have another good player or players around that secondary group that can come into the game. … When he leaves, yeah, maybe they lose that catalyst or kind of a cornerstone of their defense, but they've got other good players that come in, and they've got a lot of great players around that defense."
