The Georgia Bulldogs are on the cusp of starting their season , and fans have questions as to what this team is capable of this year and whether or not it can win a national title.
While this will be the expectation every year in Athens, it's simply not all that realistic to make a deep run annually. With that being said, there's a lot to like about this team's chances, and the schedule sets up nicely for a return to the College Football Playoff.
One group who folks have doubted throughout the offseason has been the wide receiver room, and it makes sense why as there is just not a whole lot of proven production there. Someone is going to have to catch passes from Gunner Stockton though, and there's a number of names who could step up.
The guy whose name has come up the most throughout fall camp though has been former five-star Talyn Taylor, who had a very quiet freshman year despite some high expectations right out of the gate. With the way Taylor has performed throughout fall camp, he looks assured to be in for some sort of significant role in this offense.
All throughout camp, Taylor has been the one popping up on practice intel reports as someone who is showcasing the talent that once made him so highly touted coming out of high school. Obviously, he was always going to have to prove he can do it at a consistent level and not getting on the field much early showcased why, but all indications are that Taylor is due for a breakout.
This offense is in need of someone to emerge, and Taylor was someone the coaching staff clearly put a whole lot of faith in coming out of high school. If he can tap into the size and speed combination that had the staff so eager to land him while also showing he has developed, count on him to catch a whole lot of passes this year.
Based on the way he has been discussed over the last month, it sounds like things are coming together for him at the right time. Game week is finally here, and fans cannot wait to see what this entire team can do.
Taylor in particular though is someone who will have a very close microscope on him this Saturday against Tennessee State.
