An unexpected injury scare briefly overshadowed the New York Giants ' mandatory minicamp when standout edge rusher Abdul Carter had to exit the opening session due to an apparent foot issue. According to Ralph Vacchiano from Fox Sports, the 22-year-old was sidelined for Day 2 of practice, prompting the coaching staff to exercise caution with their young defensive asset during these early summer workouts.

Initial evaluations confirmed that Carter suffered what sources classify as a minor ankle sprain during Monday's practice. Head coach John Harbaugh immediately cushioned the blow for anxious fans, stating he did not believe the injury was serious, as noticed by Jeremy Fowler on X.
Fortunately, any lingering anxiety about the defensive anchor quickly dissipated when a new update emerged from the training grounds. NFL insider Dan Duggan, covering the team's progress on X, provided encouraging news , stating, "This is basically a walk-through, but Abdul Carter is on the field and participating."
Seeing the dynamic pass rusher return to active work, even in a modified capacity, indicates a surprisingly swift recovery timeline for the defender. The decision to allow him to take crucial mental reps during team periods shows that the organization is prioritizing long-term physical durability while keeping its defensive playbook on track.
This rapid return to the field supports the optimistic view expressed by head coach John Harbaugh , who previously described the situation as a false alarm. After the initial scare, Harbaugh reassured the public, saying, "It looks like he twisted his ankle to some degree. It doesn't look serious."

With the team's internal medical staff evaluating the injury as minor, the franchise can confidently move forward, keeping its core pass-rushing front intact for the challenging upcoming season.
