The New York Giants have signed veteran defensive tackle Leki Fotu to a one-year contract, NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reported Wednesday. The move came just hours after the team added 11-year veteran Shelby Harris , making it the second defensive tackle signing of the day.
Fotu, 27, enters his seventh NFL season after splitting 2025 between the Las Vegas Raiders and Houston Texans . Over eight appearances (four starts), he recorded 11 tackles and one sack. He played 193 defensive snaps last season after being waived by Las Vegas in December and later called up from Houston’s practice squad for two games.
Originally a fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals , Fotu has appeared in 66 career games with 26 starts across stints with Arizona, the New York Jets , Raiders, and Texans. Throughout his career, the 6-foot-5, 317-pound lineman has amassed 103 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, eight quarterback hits, three pass breakups, and one forced fumble.
Fotu’s most productive season came in 2023 with the Cardinals, when he finished with 28 tackles, five tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks across 11 games (nine starts).
New York’s recent defensive line overhaul follows the departure of Dexter Lawrence , who was traded to the Cincinnati Bengals , and additional losses in free agency, including Rakeem Nunez-Roches and DJ Davidson. The team also drafted Bobby Jamison-Travis in the sixth round but views him as a developmental option.
Despite adding Fotu and Harris, the Giants remain in pursuit of veteran nose tackle DJ Reader, though multiple teams are reportedly competing for his services
