Kicker jobs are easy to ignore until one misses from 42 yards in a game that decides a season. The Giants will not be guessing at that spot anymore. Dominic Zvada is their kicker, and Thursday's preseason finale made the call feel pretty straightforward.
Zvada hit field goals from 53, 46 and 23 yards against the Jets, added two extra points and handled kickoff duty. The Giants made the decision official after the game, giving him the job before Sunday's roster deadline.

The full preseason body of work was strong. Zvada went 5-for-5 on field goals from 53, 46, 43, 32 and 23 yards, and he made all four extra points. Jordan Stout was part of a clean operation in the finale, which matters as much as the kick itself when a team is building its special teams unit.
Nobody gets handed a regular-season win for a good August. Still, the Giants needed a reliable answer after making this position a real competition. They got one.

There are plenty of roster decisions left to settle, and most carry more attention than a kicker. This one was settled with actual kicks under pressure, from real NFL distance, in the final tune-up before cuts.
Zvada will get judged when the games count. For now, he gave the Giants a clean answer at a position that turns messy in a hurry when nobody wins it outright.
