Giants sign quarterback Brandon Allen
The New York Giants signed quarterback Brandon Allen , the team announced April 13 .
Allen played for the Cincinnati Bengals from 2020 to 2022. Giants passing game coordinator/quarterbacks coach Brian Callahan was the Bengals' offensive coordinator during Allen's three seasons in Cincinnati.
Allen started five games for the Bengals in 2020 , after then-rookie starting quarterback Joe Burrow suffered a season-ending knee injury . He also played in six games during the 2021 season, making one start.
The Bengals signed Allen to back up Burrow before the 2020 season.
Allen started three games for the Denver Broncos in 2019. He played in three games for the San Francisco 49ers in 2024, and one game for the Tennessee Titans in 2025.
Allen is the third quarterback on the Giants' roster, joining Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston .
In addition, the Giants reportedly hosted former Bengals defensive tackle DJ Reader for a free-agent visit .
