Giants sign veteran quarterback Brandon Allen
The Giants added some quarterback depth on Monday morning, signing veteran Brandon Allen .
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Allen entered the the NFL as a sixth-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016, and he's been a journeyman backup during his pro career, appearing in regular season games with Denver , Cincinnati , San Francisco , and Tennessee .
The University of Arkansas product has started 10 games in his career and made 19 total appearances, throwing for 1,882 yards, 11 touchdowns, and nine interceptions.
The Giants obviously have Jaxson Dart locked in as their starting quarterback and face of the franchise, and Jameis Winston remains under contract as Dart's backup. Allen figures to be the third QB on the depth chart, for now, as the team prepares for OTAs, minicamp, and training camp.
