They ended up fine, taking Thomas at No. 4 overall.
Injuries and inconsistency have hurt Young in his seven-year career, but he is dangerous, and surging.
He had a career-high 10 sacks in 2025 and this season leads the Saints with four sacks.
Thomas is built for battles such as this, but he is not 100 percent, dealing with a groin issue that keeps him off the practice field most of the week — he is listed as questionable to play.
Rookie J.C. Davis is next in line if Thomas is unavailable.

6:That is the total point production the Saints have managed in the first quarter of their first five games.
Remarkably, that is not the worst output in the league. The Eagles (three points) are at the bottom.
Everyone is waiting for the Giants to show they are the real deal .
These close-call victories (and one tie) against last-place teams are great in the standings but unsatisfying for those wanting more .
This opponent offers the opportunity for the home team to flex its muscles.
Holding onto the ball is first on the to-do list. And guess what? No rain at all in the forecast!
Giants 27, Saints 17
