There was some Serie A influence to his choices, including Italy legend Pirlo as the one with the best Football IQ.
Casting the net around Xabi Alonso, Steven Gerrard , Isco , Frank Lampard , Paul Scholes, Roy Kean and David Silva , Gilmour went a little closer to home when asked to name the midfielder with the greatest aura.

"McTominay," he smiled, referring to his Napoli and Scotland teammate.
The 25-year-old came to Napoli from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer of 2024 at a cost of €14.75m, but has struggled with repeated injury problems.
He's hoping that this season he can finally put them behind him, having made four appearances between Serie A and the Champions League, scoring one goal.
