Tom Masters explains what we know about Gonzalo Garcia since he made his move to Fulham official.
Fulham's new signing, Gonzalo Garcia, has given his first interview following his official unveiling as the Cottagers' new centre-forward.
Fresh from joining the club from Real Madrid , Garcia will take the No. 7 jersey at Fulham and both he, Alvaro Arbeloa and Fulham fans will be hoping he can get off the ground running.
Garcia comes with a sterling reputation, having risen through the ranks of Real Madrid 's La Fabrica academy, Real Madrid Castilla and then the senior team.
In total, Garcia spent 13 years in the Spanish capital, including significant time under Fulham's new manager Arbeloa.
And the Spaniard admitted that Arbeloa played a big role in his decision to move to Fulham and the Premier League.
"I'm very, very grateful for it, I am very happy to be here and I am very grateful with the board and Arbeloa for the trust they have put in me and I am very, very excited to start.
"I've been at Real Madrid for 12 years with the academy and one year with the first team; it is a huge change, it is the Premier League.
"Fulham are the oldest club in London, so I am very excited, and I am very happy to be here and fully confident to start.
"I am so excited to be here, I am very happy, I think playing for Fulham is the best decision right now, the oldest club in London with lots of history, the fans, the stadium all seems good, and as I said, I am really happy and fully excited to start."
Ever since Arbeloa was appointed as Marco Silva's replacement at Craven Cottage, the rumour mill has suggested that Fulham were set to be in the market for several Real Madrid players.
And one of the key reasons for that has been the fact that Arbeloa has such an excellent relationship with the players he took from La Fabrica up to the senior team.
"My relationship with the manager is pretty good; it is fantastic," he said.
"I have been with him at the academy and also in the first team, and he puts a lot of trust in me, and I am very happy to be here and share with him this new chapter.
"He has been with me lots of years at the academy; he was the first one who changed my position when I was under 18, he put me as a striker, so he knows me very well.
"He knows how to push me, and he gives me lots of confidence, so I will try and do my best with him on the pitch and score lots of goals hopefully.
"I played as a winger, and he was the coach when I was under 18 at the academy, when he put me for the first time as a striker."
Of course, Garcia has not come to Fulham alone, with the west London side also securing a deal to sign Cesar Palacios from Los Blancos.
That is something that also excites Garcia who joins with someone he has grown up with.
"With Cesar, you will see that he is a fantastic player; I know he will surprise you on the pitch, because he is really, really good.
"He is one of the best performers at the academy of Real Madrid so I am very, very lucky to be here with him and share this experience with him."
