P.J. Fleck wasn't the only Gophers head coach to appear on FOX's Big Noon Kickoff pregame show on Saturday. Men's basketball head coach Niko Medved and big man Malick Kordel made a guest appearence for a segment on Saturday morning.
Kordel transferred to Minnesota from Michigan in the offseason, and he showed the Big Noon Kickoff crew what he's going to bring to The Barn this winter. Medved introduced Kordel, and the big man had a pair of dunks for a quick segment on the show. Neither he nor Medved said much, but it was national exposure for the Gophers team.
Kordel projects as a starter in Minnesota's frontcourt, as the hype continues to build for his potential as a 7-foot-2 shot blocker with elite finishing ability. The Gophers clearly think highly of his future with the program.
The Gophers will have a pair of exhibitions this month against Omaha and Creighton before beginning their regular season campaign on November 2 against North Dakota.
