- Grading Colts' free agent signing of DT Derrick Nnadi
The Indianapolis Colts added to the defensive tackle position during free agency on Wednesday, signing Derrick Nnadi .
So what grade should the Colts get for this move?
Nnadi is listed at 6-1, 317 pounds and can provide a run-stuffing presence inside. In that role, Nnadi isn't going to fill up the stat sheet -- he has just six pressures over the last two seasons -- but ideally, his ability to take up space and occupy blockers can help in the run game and free up others.

A former third-round pick, Nnadi spent eight seasons with Kansas City . After playing over 500 snaps in all but one season from 2018 to 2023, Nnadi is averaging just shy of 300 snaps per season over the last two years.
Out of 146 eligible defensive tackles in 2025, Nnadi ranked 125th in PFF's run-stop rate and 101st in run defense grade.

Grade:C
I don't feel strongly one way or the other with this signing. This move is fine -- hence the 'C' grade.
The Colts needed more bodies at defensive tackle on their offseason roster, and I'm going to guess that Nnadi's deal will be at or around league minimum, making it relatively easy for the Colts to move on during roster cutdowns if needed. It's a low-risk swing on an experienced veteran at a position where more depth is needed.
