- Green Bay Packers explore another defensive addition after Brandon Cisse injury
The Green Bay Packers avoided a second straight loss by defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4, moving the Packers back to an even 2-2 record. However, the performance raised just as many questions as it answered.
Tampa Bay entered the matchup without a win and relied on undrafted rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels for his first career start, yet Green Bay could not turn the opportunity into a comfortable victory. The Packers got the result they needed, but their uneven showing made it clear that significant improvements remain necessary.
The Packers have not been able to escape its growing injury problems, with both the offense and defense taking significant hits. After addressing concerns along the offensive line last week, the Packers now appear ready to focus on their defense.
The secondary has taken a particularly heavy blow, prompting Green Bay to explore another potential addition by bringing former Atlanta Falcons cornerback Cobee Bryant in for a free agency look.

The Falcons gave Cobee Bryant a chance to prove himself after he went undrafted in 2025, bringing him into the fold during training camp. The cornerback did not survive the team's initial roster cuts, but Atlanta kept him around on the practice squad. His opportunity eventually came later that November when Atlanta elevated him to the active roster.
Bryant is getting another look around the league after recently working out for the San Francisco 49ers. The former Falcons cornerback now has a chance to land with Green Bay, which is searching for reinforcements in the secondary. Brandon Cisse suffered a neck injury in Week 4, creating another need at cornerback and prompting the Packers to bring Bryant in for a workout Tuesday.

Should Cisse miss additional time, Green Bay would likely lean on Carrington Valentine and Benjamin St-Juste alongside Keisean Nixon in the secondary. However, the Packers already have limited depth at cornerback, making another option worth exploring. Bryant would probably join the practice squad if Green Bay decides to sign him, giving the team a low risk opportunity to evaluate whether he can adapt to its defensive scheme.
