- Green Bay Packers receive intriguing offensive line solution amid growing concerns
The Green Bay Packers have reached a point where standing pat along the offensive line may not be enough. Injuries have depleted the unit, while the players still available have struggled to provide consistency. That leaves the Packers with few obvious solution s, though Justis Mosqueda of Acme Packing Company has proposed an alternative the team has not seriously explored.
Mosqueda has proposed a new configuration for the Packers, with Jager Burton at left guard, Anthony Belton at right guard, and either John Williams or Travis Glover taking over at right tackle. While Belton has struggled in his current role, Mosqueda believes his film would look much better if he were being evaluated as a guard.
"Anthony Belton is still a people mover, but he can't hang in pass protection at tackle when he's going against wider edges who build up steam before the point of contact," wrote the Packers insider.
"He's a guard playing tackle. The coaching staff needs to fix this."

John Williams entered the NFL as a seventh round selection in the 2025 draft, but his rookie campaign was derailed by injury before he could appear in a preseason game. He returned for all three preseason contests in 2026, although his work came exclusively at left tackle. Moving him across the line to right tackle for his first career start would therefore represent a significant adjustment, making that scenario a difficult one to envision.
Glover, a sixth round pick in 2024, has more experience at right tackle than John Williams. He played nine rookie snaps there and has 147 preseason snaps at the position, including 38 this year. If Green Bay follows Mosqueda's plan, Glover would likely move to right tackle alongside Belton, sacrificing some strength at tackle for improvement at right guard.

Mosqueda also believes Green Bay should keep Jager Burton at left guard. The Packers initially had Donovan Jennings and Aaron Banks ahead of him, but injuries to both players forced the team to turn to the fifth round rookie.
Burton has gradually earned a bigger role after injuries disrupted Green Bay's plans at left guard. Donovan Jennings struggled in Week 1, while Aaron Banks injured his toe before Jennings was hurt after returning. Burton stepped in as the third option and performed well enough to start again in Week 3, making continuity another reason to keep him there.
The bigger question is how Green Bay adjusts if Sean Rhyan misses time with his hand injury or Aaron Banks returns. For now, though, the Packers have little reason not to explore this option.
