Aaron Rodgers says this coming 2026 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers will be the last of his career -- that he’ll retire after 22 NFL seasons. No great surprise considering he’s 42 and will be 43 by his final game.
Also no argument he will retire as one of the all-time great quarterbacks and a first-ballot Hall of Famer. He can be polarizing, the type of person my father used to call an “odd duck.” But you can’t argue with 10 Pro Bowls and four league MVP awards. He’s fifth in career passing yards, fourth in touchdown passes, has a 102.2 career passer rating, and an all-time low 1.4 interception percentage.
The one knock, perhaps: An 11-11 postseason record and “only” one Super Bowl win, way back in the 2010 season. This would be the likely starting point for those who argue he‘s an all-time great ... but one who does not belong on the highest tier.
