The Cleveland Guardians traded for outfielder Jo Adell before the Major League Baseball trade deadline in early August. Adell had some great success over the years playing for the Los Angeles Angels. That trade is now being applauded by a MLB insider.

"Jo Adell [was] one of the best acquisitions at the Trade Deadline…" Xavier Scruggs said, per MLB Network. "You go get you some power."
Adell was known as a defensive star during his days with the Angels. He also is getting his bat going as the season rolls along. This year, Adell is batting at a .240 average with 20 home runs. The slugger also has 83 RBIs, with a chance to post at least 100 RBIs in a season for the first time in his career.
In his last 15 games, Adell has two home runs and 17 RBIs.
"[He's] a very good complement to our lineup," Guardians president of baseball operations Chris Antonetti said of Adell, per MLB.com, when he was traded from the Angels.

The outfielder had an astonishing 2025 season with the Angels. He was one of the bright spots of that team's offense.
"A longtime top prospect who was the Angels' first-round Draft pick in 2017, Adell had a breakout season in '25, when he slashed .236/.293/.485 with 18 doubles, 37 home runs and 98 RBIs over 152 games," MLB.com added.
A number of other teams were looking at Adell before the trade deadline, including the Pittsburgh Pirates. The outfielder was a hot trade candidate considering the Angels are mired in yet another disappointing season.
Cleveland is fighting for a spot in the Major League Baseball Playoffs. The Guardians are currently second in the American League Central , and in a fight with the Chicago White Sox for the division crown.

Heading into Tuesday, the Guardians are 69-68 on the season. The Guardians are in action Tuesday against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Cleveland has won eight of their last 10 games.
