Friday, September 4 (first game): LHP Logan Allen vs RHP Keider Montero
Allen gets the ball to open the series for Cleveland, and he'll look for a better outing than his last time out. Against the Kansas City Royals, Allen pitched in two innings, allowing two runs on three hits.
For the year, he owns a 3.77 ERA over six appearances (one start).
Going for the Tigers is Montero, who has a 3.24 ERA in 28 appearances (22 starts) this season.
Friday, September 4 (second game): LHP Foster Griffin vs LHP Andrew Sears
Griffin gets the ball in the second of the doubleheader, and he will be making his sixth start with the Guardians. Over his first five outings with Cleveland, Griffin has posted a 3.96 ERA.
The lefty has only allowed more than two runs once since coming over at the trade deadline, and he'll try to keep things going strong.
Going opposite of him is Sears, who has recorded a 6.75 in two appearances this season.
Saturday, September 5: LHP Parker Messick vs LHP Framber Valdez
Messick has put together a nice season for Cleveland, posting a 2.46 ERA over 27 starts. He was great in August, recording a 2.02 ERA over six starts.
The lefty shut down the Royals last out time, allowing just one run on five hits over six innings.
Valdez will go for Detroit in this game, with the veteran holding a 4.36 ERA over 27 starts this year.
Sunday, September 6: RHP Gavin Williams vs RHP Jackson Jobe
Williams will go in the finale, and he is coming off a career-start strikeout game against the Blue Jays. The right-hander was electric against Toronto , going seven innings, allowing two hits and 13 strikeouts.
On the year, Williams owns a 3.81 ERA over 28 starts.
For the Tigers, Jobe gets the ball. He has recorded a 4.63 ERA this season over five starts.
