Seeing as Adam Engstrom is playing excellent hockey , and Mike Matheson is approaching a return to play, the Canadiens opted to reassign prospect David Reinbacher to the Laval Rocket in the AHL. With this decision, Reinbacher will be able to absorb heavy minutes in a development league, which is exactly what the doctor ordered for a player who has suffered through numerous injuries in recent years. He needs as much experience as possible at this point in his development. Forward Owen Beck was also sent to the Laval Rocket.

Some may disagree, but once we set emotions aside, there's no doubt the Canadiens have a discipline issue. Two injured players spent a lot of time on the ice in Brossard. Both Matheson and Florian Xhekaj spent the better part of an hour running drills, which indicates they're getting close to a return to play.

Les deux joueurs semblaient très à l'aise tout au long des exercices et n'ont montré aucun signe d'inconfort. 👀🏒⬇@DLCoulisses #GoHabsGo #Matheson #Xhekaj #NHL

Here's the latest mind-blowing stat relating to phenom Lane Hutson. As a reminder, the Habs have had a few decent players grace their lineup over the years.
