Detailed examinations, including an MRI scan, have revealed that Daka has suffered a muscle fibre tear in his left thigh.
As a result, he is expected to be sidelined for "the coming weeks", HSV stated.
HSV will resume their season after the international break with an away game against Hoffenheim on October 10.
