CLEVELAND –Detroit TigersrookieHao-Yu Leewas pulled with a left shin contusion after he was injured in a collision at home plate in the second game of a doubleheader against theCleveland Guardianson Friday, Sept. 4.
In the third inning, Lee was on third base after going 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Spencer Torkelson hit a grounder that was fielded by third baseman José Ramírez. Lee went on contact and Ramírez threw home to catcher Austin Hedges.

Lee crashed into Hedges – he was out – and stayed on the ground in obvious pain. He walked gingerly off the field.
In the game as the designated hitter, it was unclear if he was going to be replaced at first, but Dillon Dingler eventually came off the bench to replace him.
The Tigers announced later in the game it was a left shin contusion.
"We gotta check out his ankle underneath," Tigers manager A.J. Hinch told the Apple broadcast. "It kind of got underneath on the play. There is nothing to really know right now. We are getting him looked at right now. His spot is up fifth. So, if you don't see him hit, then obviously I'm gonna take him out."
