Unlike other retired NBA players, Michael Jordan rarely makes public appearances and prefers to enjoy life away from the spotlight. That is exactly why every appearance he makes gets overanalyzed by fans and media alike.
Over the past few years, many fans have expressed concerns about his health. One of the biggest examples of that came in September 2024, when he was spotted alongside his wife, Yvette Prieto, at Stade Louis II to watch AS Monaco face FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League.
After photos of the event circulated online , many fans became fixated on the apparent yellow tint in MJ's eyes.
Interestingly, that was far from the first time such concerns had surfaced. Even when "The Last Dance" documentary aired in 2020, Jordan's eyes had the same yellow discoloration during different interview segments.
However, all those concerns seem to have come to a rightful and fortunate end.
Jordan looks "iconic" in Spain
The six-time NBA champion was recently spotted enjoying another European vacation with Prieto in Marbella, Spain.
The couple, who have frequently spent summers traveling to destinations such as Italy, Greece, France and Spain, were seen taking a leisurely stroll around the Marbella Club Hotel, accompanied by security personnel.
Moreover, Mike, famously known for his love of cigars, was seen smoking one while sporting an orange T-shirt, denim shorts, and white sneakers, looking dapper and possessing a toned, leaner physique, with his sculpted muscles visible.
The 63-year-old Chicago Bulls legend appeared to be in excellent shape, looking considerably slimmer and much more attractive compared to some of his previous public appearances.
According to some reports, Mike now focuses heavily on structured body conditioning and very clean nutrition. Moreover, he also practices sustained mobility movements and deep breathing exercises every single day.
"He changed some eating habits and got back to working out a little more," an insider said . "The simple routine helped him lose a lot of extra weight."
MJ values his health more than anything
Reports have suggested that the five-time MVP made a conscious effort to prioritize health and fitness after photos from Monaco generated significant public discussion.
"The great thing about Mike and his health is that he was an elite athlete for so long, he knows what to do to stay in shape, and having a wife who was a model, they work out together and he is always walking around on the golf course, so he remains overall in solid shape," a source told . " Plus, how much stress do you think he has? Not much, he is rich, happily married, and loving life. That goes a long way in someone's health."
Regardless of the reason, his latest appearance sends a powerful message. Even someone widely regarded as the greatest basketball player of all time, a billionaire businessman with countless investments and responsibilities, still recognized the importance of taking care of his health.
Perhaps that is the real takeaway.
No matter how successful, wealthy, or accomplished someone becomes, maintaining physical well-being remains the most important investment they can make. Just look at MJ.
