Hawks vs Wizards NBA Preview
The Atlanta Hawks are an exploitable defensive matchup right now.
The Hawks love to play at a super-fast pace, which inherently creates more possessions and scoring opportunities for the opposition.

More importantly, Atlanta is incredibly weak against teams operating in the post, restricted area, and paint.
With Jock Landale out and Jalen Johnson listed as questionable, the Hawks are forced to run Onyeka Okongwu at the five. They are heavily undersized and lack the physical resistance necessary to stop elite interior scorers from establishing deep position.
We have already seen guys like Bam Adebayo (24 points), Alperen Sengun (29), and Jarrett Allen (14) crush their points props against this exact Atlanta frontcourt.
The Wizards are positioned perfectly to exploit Atlanta's interior weakness tonight and Anthony Davis is the key here.

AD's biggest historically notable trait is that he simply doesn't want to bang with big, physical traditional centers — and he doesn't have to do that in this matchup.
Against Atlanta's undersized frontcourt, he can get out in space, score off the dribble, post up smaller defenders, and easily get deep into the paint.
This is also a revenge game for Trae Young going up against his former squad, and I fully expect Young to set AD up in highly advantageous situations around the rim all night long.
Hawks vs Wizards Pick, Betting Analysis
Anthony Davis has hit this number in two straight games and is averaging right around this mark this season.

The environment is an absolute dream for him: he faces a fast-paced Atlanta team that is completely devoid of physical rim protection.
The Hawks foul quite a bit, and AD remains elite at generating contact, meaning he will also be able to pad his scoring total at the free-throw line.
If he gets Okongwu into early foul trouble, it creates a feedback loop that only makes his scoring opportunities even easier.
The Wizards are going to funnel the offense through him in the paint. I'll take Anthony Davis to score over 23.5 points tonight.
Pick: Anthony Davis Over 23.5 Points (-125) — DraftKings
