Houston point guard Justin Frison announced his commitment to Murray State on Friday according to 247Sports , where he is ranked as the No. 126 overall recruit in the class of 2027.
Frison is ranked as the No. 3 player in Tennessee, according to 247Sports Composite. He also held offers from Memphis, Ole Miss , Mississippi State and West Virginia among others.
Justin is the first nationally ranked commit in Racers' program history. Having the opportunity to earn minutes and crack the rotation as a freshman was vital to his decision.
For Frison, the priority was finding a combination of the best "role and roster."
"Most schools want you to wait," Frison told The Commercial Appeal. "Me and my family feel like experience is the best thing to have."
During his junior year, Frison earned District 15-4A MVP and was a TSSAA Mr. Basketball finalist. This summer, Frison led the Nike EYBL circuit in total assists, averaging 7.3 with Team Thad. He also averaged 15.7 points and 2.1 steals.
Frison led Houston to 4A regional semifinals, The 6-foot guard was among the area's top scorers at 21 points per game, 4.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and two steals during the Mustangs 2025-26 season.
The Frison's have long dominated TSSAA men's basketball. Justin's older brother Jacob led Overton to its first 4A State Championship title in 2023 . 20 years prior it was Vincent himself who won a state title with Fairley in 1993.
"[Jordan] was very supportive, he was very excited and ready for me to get out there," Justin said. "He's been giving me tips I believe they can help when I get to the college level."
