Former NFL quarterback Ben DiNucci thinks Will Howard could be a potential trade target for the New York Giants after Jaxson Dart 's season-ending injury.
"I would not be shocked to see NYG trade for a QB," DiNucci wrote on X. DiNucci then listed Sam Ehlinger , JJ McCarthy, Will Howard , Zach Wilson and Spencer Rattler as potential targets.
Jameis Winston will take over as the Giants' starting quarterback, but New York doesn't have much behind him. Jake Haener is expected to serve as the backup quarterback.
Howard is buried on the depth chart, behind starter Aaron Rodgers and Mason Rudolph . The Giants could be willing to give up a late-round pick to add Howard to their QBs room.

Howard played the entire first half in the Steelers ' preseason finale against Buffalo, going 9-for-15 for 69 yards on the night and throwing two touchdowns and an interception. The pick, which was pulled down by former Pitt safety Damar Hamlin , appeared to be caused by a miscommunication with Lake McRee, who broke out on a corner when Howard thought he'd be on the seam.
Howard, a sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft who helped Ohio State to a College Football Playoff national title, got to perform in front of coaches for all of the offseason, training camp and preseason after not seeing any game action last year.
Howard had an impressive NFL debut against Green Bay in the preseason opener. The second preseason game against the New York Jets was a different story, however. Howard completed 10 of 15 passes for 74 yards (4.9 average) with no touchdowns, two interceptions, and a 38.6 passer rating.
Despite the poor numbers on the stat sheet, former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger saw positives from Howard against the Jets.
"I like what I saw from Will," Roethlisberger said on his Footbahlin podcast. "There were a lot really good things he did. And I know, I know, turnovers you can't do it, I get it. But he's gonna learn from it, and they're gonna happen. I've had games with four interceptions before. But there was a lot of good.
"What I saw from quarterback to quarterback, there was a lot of positives."
