Just three weeks after the Indiana Fever lost in the first round of the WNBA playoffs, guard Raven Johnson is already back to working on her game.
While many of her teammates are taking the time to rest and enjoy the offseason — from Caitlin Clark attending a Kansas City Chiefs game with Taylor Swift to Kelsey Mitchell planning her youth camp — Johnson opted to use the time to work with player development coach Chris Hyppa to improve her skills.
In a video posted by Hyppa on Instagram, Johnson can be seen doing dribbling and movement drills, as well as shooting.
"Chip on her shoulder…" Hyppa wrote in the caption of his post, while tagging Johnson.

Johnson was a reliable defender for Indiana throughout the past season; however, there's no denying that her offensive game left much to be desired. She was dead-last on the team in offensive win shares (-0.2). With that said, seeing her work on her offense early in the offseason is certainly promising.
The 23-year-old averaged 3.1 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game during the 2026 season. Her best offensive game came in a May 28 game against the Golden State Valkyries, in which she recorded 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting.
In the playoffs, Johnson scored 14 points in Indiana's Game 1 loss to the Las Vegas Aces, shooting 6-of-7 from the field.
The No. 10 pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft certainly showed flashes of her offensive potential. If she can become a more consistent scorer, she should be able to earn a more prominent role with Indiana.
