The Indiana Fever selected Justine Pissott with the 25th overall pick in the second round of the 2026 WNBA Draft. The 6-foot-4 guard-forward signed a developmental contract ahead of the new season, but she never appeared in a regular-season game for the Fever.
In July, Pissott signed a rest-of-season contract with the Las Vegas Aces. The Fever could have matched the Aces' offer but chose not to.
The former Tennessee and Vanderbilt standout made her WNBA debut for Las Vegas on July 11, going off for 19 points and five three-pointers against the Phoenix Mercury. Overall, Pissott made 10 regular-season appearances, averaging 3.8 points and 1.0 rebounds in 8.7 minutes per game.
On Tuesday, Pissott took to Instagram to send a parting message for her rookie season. She shared some of her favorite photos from the season, along with a screenshot of an endearing message she received following her debut campaign.
"Congrats on finishing your rookie year! ❤️ I know this season may not have been everything you imagined or hoped it would be, and I know there were probably some moments that tested you mentally, physically, and emotionally. But I hope you take a second to really be proud of yourself and everything you accomplished," the message read.
"… I'm genuinely proud of you, not just for the player you are, but for the person you continue to become. Keep your head high, keep trusting God, and keep believing in yourself.
"This is only chapter one, and I can't wait to see everything that's ahead for you! ❤️"
A number of Pissott's former Fever teammates showed their support in the comments section.
"Keep going bb🫶🏽" Monique Billings wrote.
"proud of you❤️" said Makayla Timpson.
"😍😍😍😍" reacted Raven Johnson.
Some of Pissott's Aces teammates also reacted to her end-of-season post.
"Tini 🍸🫶🏽" commented five-time WNBA MVP A'ja Wilson.
"Boookiesss😍❤️" Dana Evans wrote.
"❤️❤️❤️❤️" Kalani Brown reacted.
"😍🔥👑" posted Cheyenne Parker-Tyus.
"Proud of you sis❤️❤️" said Ta'Niya Latson.
The Aces defeated the Fever in the first round of the playoffs, 2-1. However, Las Vegas' title defense ended after a 3-0 sweep in the semifinals by the Golden State Valkyries.
Pissott is set to enter free agency this offseason. It remains to be seen if she has done enough to secure a new contract offer from the Aces.
