Indiana Fever star Kelsey Mitchell won her second Player of the Month honor after dominating in August, becoming only the second player with multiple such awards this season. Only Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson has more, as she has won the accolade four times in the Western Conference.
Mitchell is averaging 25.0 points on an efficient 51.3% shooting, along with 1.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals this campaign. She's second in the league in scoring, trailing only Wilson.
Aside from the individual stats, Mitchell has also helped the Fever secure a playoff spot. The team, currently 26-14 and fifth in the standings, is also still in contention for a top-three spot. That being said, the WNBA guard has certainly made a case for MVP.

The Fever have also been actively promoting Mitchell for MVP, alongside superstar teammate Caitlin Clark , who has had an equally impressive season.
One Fever veteran also expressed her belief that Mitchell is the MVP this season. After the 30-year-old guard shared several photos of herself on and off the court, along with an epic caption, Monique Billings commented with a simple but clear message.
"MVP," Billings wrote.
For what it's worth, Billings isn't the only Fever player who has said that Mitchell is their pick for MVP. Early in August, Aliyah Boston echoed a similar sentiment .
"I think, honestly, she's really just the MVP," Boston said at the time. "I think that's just what she's been doing. Every single night you see her come out and she drops I don't even know how many points at this rate. She defends her butt off. She does exactly what she needs to do, and so I'm really proud of her."
