- Instant Analysis of Eagles adding Arnold Ebiketie on a one-year deal
The Eagles were unable to land a big-name elite pass rusher, but likely landed the most efficient free agent at the position, as Former Falcons pass rusher Arnold Ebiketie made our list of free agents to target, and he'll sign a one-year deal with the Eagles worth up to $7.3 million, including $4.3 million fully guaranteed. With the media reacting to the news, we're looking at the instant analysis of Arnold Ebiketie joining the Eagles on a one-year deal worth up to $7.3M, adding an athletic situational pass rusher.
Eagles have three athletes
Ebiketie joins Nolan Smith , Jalyx Hunt , and athletic, hybrid pass rushers who can get after the opposing quarterbacks. A solid run defender and explosive pass rusher, Smith missed seven games in 2025, logging 31 tackles, 3 sacks, one forced fumble, 33 QB pressures, 24 QB hurries, and a 67.7 PFF grade in 12 games. The 5th-year option, as it currently stands, is $14 million for 2027. Hunt became the first Eagle to lead the team in both sacks (6.5) and INTs (3) in the same season. He is the second Eagle to have 6.0+ sacks and 3.0+ INTs in a season, joining Seth Joyner (1991-92). While Hunt is an outstanding pass rusher, there's no guarantee he'll become an All-Pro, and Nolan Smith's injury history is a concern.

In 2024, he started only two games but still managed to log six sacks, 12 quarterback hits, and 64 tackles, 26 of which were solo.
PFF grades
Despite limited snaps, Ebiketie's 74.9 overall grade was 28th out of 115 edge rushers in the NFL, while his 73.4 pass rusher grade was 30th in the NFL.

Pass rush rate
Playing in a deep position group with Atlanta, Ebiketie was 10th in the league in quarterback pressure rate (16.4%) among players with at least 150 pass-rush snaps, according to Next Gen Stats, leading Falcons pass rushers according to ESPN. Ebiketie lost snaps to draft picks Jalon Walker and James Pearce Jr. and veteran Leonard Floyd in 2025. Last season, the Falcons had a franchise-record 57 sacks, and Ebiketie still carved out a role.
