Inter Move Ahead of Milan for Cagliari Forward Paul Mendy
Inter have reportedly moved ahead of Milan in the race to sign Cagliari forward Paul Mendy , with the 2007-born attacker attracting interest from both sides of the city. No terms with Cagliari have been reported, and the interest remains at an early stage.
According to La Repubblica via Calciomercato.it, new Inter sporting director Dario Baccin has watched Mendy on several occasions and given the green light to a possible move. That groundwork appears to have put the Nerazzurri in front, at least for now.

Baccin's approval puts Inter ahead of Milan
Milan remain attentive to Mendy's progress but have not matched the legwork Inter have already put in, leaving them playing catch-up as things stand. Mendy is the latest name to emerge from a Cagliari side enjoying an excellent start to the season, alongside Alessandro Romano and Daniel Maldini , both of whom have drawn attention of their own this term.
For Inter, chasing Mendy fits a familiar pattern of moving early on young Serie A talent rather than competing at the top of the market, a strategy already visible in the Yanis Massolin loan arrangement with Cagliari . Wider competition circling Mendy
The pursuit of Mendy underlines the competition that can develop around young Serie A talent. Separate Italian reporting has suggested Lazio and Roma are also monitoring Mendy, though that wider interest has not been established by the Football Italia report and should be treated as supplementary for now.

Whether any of this translates into an actual approach is another matter entirely. Cagliari are climbing the table, and no terms have been reported with a club that, according to other Italian outlets, has no intention of selling its young forward during the January window.
