The Green Bay Packers are currently counting down the hours until their 2026 schedule is released, with some of the games already having been leaked by the media. While they have made some strides to replace him, the team is still missing the production of prime Jaire Alexander in the secondary, having released him prior to the 2025 season.
Alexander has since spent time with both the Baltimore Ravens and the Philadelphia Eagles , although he opted to step away from football to focus on his physical and mental health before playing a game in Philadelphia.
Now, the Pro Bowler has gotten 100% real on when he knew things were coming to an end for him in Green Bay .
"…a few weeks into the new year I call up the Packers like, "Hey, can you guys send over an iPad so I can start watching film and get a jump on next season?" It's something that happens constantly in our league. Teams load up iPads with tons of film and give them to guys so they can study. But in this case, after my surgery, it was this situation where … they just kept delaying things with that iPad," he wrote on the Players Tribune.
"After a few weeks, I kinda got the hint. Like, Hmmmm, maybe the Packers don't really want me around anymore," he added.
It was certainly a cold way of turning the page by a franchise that had seen some great moments with Alexander in the defensive backfield, including a great performance in the team's 2023-24 playoff win over the Dallas Cowboys .
Clearly, Alexander wasn't too appreciative of the team ghosting him with the iPad situation.
