KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The month of August was certainly a rewarding one for the Kansas City Royals.
The club saw two vital pieces of their young core make major strides and give an exciting glimpse of what the future could hold.

New roster changes for Arrowhead Stadium chefs
Jac Caglianone and Noah Cameron were named the American League player and pitcher of the month.
During the month of August, Caglianone totaled six home runs and 26 RBIs, with a slash line of .411/.429/.684. He also led the MLB with an OPS of 1.113. On the season, he currently leads the Royals with 23 home runs, 67 RBIs and a .826 OPS.
He is the first Royal to win the award since Bobby Witt Jr. in 2024.
Cameron was also outstanding during August, with a 1.87 ERA in five starts while going 4-0 with 24 strikeouts in 33.2 innings. One of those games included a one-hit shutout against the Los Angeles Angels.

During the 2026 season, Cameron is 9-8 with a 4.08 ERA in 154.1 innings.

Along with the exceptional performance from Cameron and Caglianone, the Royals also had a nine-game win streak.
Although the Royals playoff hopes have all but been thwarted, they have shown promising signs during the second half of the season that hopefully foreshadow what is to come in 2027.
With a young core of Caglianone, Cameron, Witt, Maikel Garcia and Carter Jensen, there are plenty of reasons for optimism heading into next season.
