Jackson Chourio has officially placed his name alongside one of the greatest players in MLB history.
The Milwaukee Brewers outfielder recorded his 10th hit of the 2026 World Series during Game 4 against the Tampa Bay Rays, tying Babe Ruth for the most hits through the first four games of a Fall Classic.

Chourio entered Game 4 with eight hits in the first three World Series games. After recording a hit earlier in the game and with Milwaukee leading 3-2 in the 12th inning, he stepped to the plate with two outs and delivered a double against Rays reliever Ian Seymour.
That hit gave Chourio his second hit of the night and his 10th of the series, tying him with Ruth for the most hits through the first four games of a World Series. Ruth did it with the New York Yankees in the 1928 World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals.
The accomplishment's significance is difficult to overstate. Ruth's mark had stood alone for 98 years before Chourio matched it on baseball's biggest stage.
Chourio has also been remarkably consistent throughout the series. He has recorded multiple hits in each of the first four games, becoming just the 10th player in World Series history to accomplish that feat. At 22 years old, he is the youngest player ever to record multiple hits in each of the first four games of a World Series.

Chourio continues historic postseason run

The record is only the latest piece of history Chourio has made during Milwaukee's postseason run.
The two hits in Game 4 pushed Chourio's postseason total to 31 hits in 24 career games. That moved him past Hall of Famer Andruw Jones, who recorded 30 postseason hits in 45 games before turning 23. Chourio now owns the most postseason hits in MLB history by a player before his 23rd birthday.
His performance has been especially important for Milwaukee during a World Series in which the Brewers are trying to win the first championship in franchise history.
Unfortunately for Chourio, his historic night did not end with a victory. Tampa Bay rallied for two runs in the bottom of the 12th inning to defeat Milwaukee 4-3 and avoid elimination. The Brewers still lead the World Series 3-1 and will have another opportunity to close out the championship in Game 5.
Regardless of how the rest of the series unfolds, Chourio has already accomplished something that had not been done since Ruth's historic 1928 World Series.
Ten hits through four games.
Only Ruth had done it before.
