The Minnesota Timberwolves are without their star player, Anthony Edwards , for up to two months, but after a 127-101 win over the Los Angeles Clippers, it seems as though they may be competitive enough during his absence.
Minnesota was able to distribute the ball a lot in this game, and they didn't just rely on guard LaMelo Ball to make all the plays for them. Forward Jaden McDaniels had a very efficient game on offense, and he finished with 7 assists.
After the game, he talked about what went into that effort and how much it helped the team to get such a convincing win.

"Just trying to make the right read at the right time," McDaniels said . "If I see two on the ball I'm not trying to force things…just being unselfish."
A performance like this from Jaden McDaniels is very encouraging. This has been someone who has gone under the radar nationally, but everyone in this Timberwolves organization knows that he is very important to the team.
McDaniels has been known to be someone who can space the floor as well as play with high intensity on defense. He has come up with big plays throughout his career in Minnesota, and he's had big games scoring.

If this coaching staff can continue to put McDaniels in a position to succeed consistently, they will be fine in terms of competing without Anthony Edwards.
LaMelo Ball was also a big help in this game as well. He, too finished with 7 assists on the night and he finished with 24 points. Because of the injury to Edwards, many believed that Ball would have to take on the reins as the leader of this group, but to replace Edwards, it's going to have to be a collective effort.
If players like Jaden McDaniels can step up alongside LaMelo Ball and take pressure off him to score, that will go a long way over the next two months.
Guards Ayo Dosunmu and Bones Hyland are capable of having big offensive performances as well, and if they can help LaMelo Ball, that will be crucial to the team's success.

Jaden McDaniels is off to a great start to the season shooting the basketball. He's shot 58.4 percent from the field this season, which is good for 11th in the NBA.
If McDaniels continues to step up for Minnesota, he could be someone who touches the ball more often in serious situations.
