- Jaguars S Rayuan Lane is the AFC defensive player of the week
The Jaguars had to turn to backup safeties due to injuries in last Sunday's game against the Colts and one of them came up with a huge play at the end of the first half.
Rayuan Lane snagged a Daniel Jones pass that tight end Tyler Warren couldn't control and returned it 92 yards for a touchdown that pushed Jacksonville's lead to 28-0 before halftime. The Jaguars went on to win 42-7.

Lane ended the day with four tackles, three passes defensed and a quarterback hit. That effort led to him being named the AFC defensive player of the week on Wednesday.
Lane was a 2025 sixth-round pick and his play last Sunday could help him earn a continued role in the secondary with Eric Murray out for the season due to an elbow injury.
