Ben Patterson's tenure with the Jaguars
The Jaguars signed Patterson as an undrafted free agent following the 2026 NFL draft.
What to know about Ben Patterson
Patterson had steady production for three seasons, eclipsing the 500-yard receiving mark from 2023 through 2025. His most productive season came last year, when he totaled 678 receiving yards with five touchdowns. Patterson has been a big-play threat, averaging 21.2 yards per catch in 2025 and 17.6 yards per reception for his career.
In an interview with Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union , Patterson's college coach, Kris McCullough, said that Patterson "was a guy you couldn't stay with. Nickels in man to man struggled against him because if they didn't get their hands on him, he would run straight by them."
Looking ahead to 2026 for Ben Patterson
Patterson is an intriguing prospect with a skill set worth developing, which could land him a spot on the practice squad. That said, making a roster push won't be easy in what is a fairly crowded receiver room.
Leading the way will be Jakobi Meyers , Parker Washington , and Brian Thomas Jr. , with Travis Hunter in the mix for snaps as well. The Jaguars also drafted CJ Williams and Josh Cameron this past April, both of whom impressed during offseason programs.
That's already six spots on the depth chart accounted for, which is often the maximum number of receivers we see a team carry. Austin Trammell and Tim Jones also offer special teams value. There are a lot of players ahead of Patterson on the depth chart.
