Jaren Jackson Jr. traded from Grizzlies to Jazz in 8-player package
The Memphis Grizzlies have sent forward Jaren Jackson Jr. to the Utah Jazz as part of an eight-player trade on Feb. 3.
A league source confirmed that the Grizzlies are trading Jackson, John Konchar, Jock Landale and Vince Williams Jr. to the Jazz.
Utah is sending Walter Clayton Jr. , Kyle Anderson , Taylor Hendricks , Georges Niang and three first-round picks to the Grizzlies, according to reports.
Jackson spent his first seven-plus seasons with the Grizzlies after being drafted No. 4 overall out of Michigan State in 2018. He earned two All-Star appearances and was named NBA Defensive Player of the Year in 2023.
Jackson is averaging 19.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. He averaged 18.5 points and 5.6 rebounds in 452 career games for Memphis.
Jackson was asked on Feb. 2 about his approach ahead of the Feb. 5 trade deadline.
"You have to be a pro about it," Jackson said on Feb. 2. "You have to be a pro every day, coming into work, doing what you're asked and being ready to play. At the end of the day, being out there on the court is the most fun part of all this, so get your mind right for that and let everything play out."
Konchar spent the past seven seasons with the Grizzlies after joining the team in 2019. Williams was acquired in the second round of the 2023 NBA Draft, and Landale was signed in July 2025 to add depth at center.
The Grizzlies are on a West Coast road trip and face the Sacramento Kings on Feb. 4, followed by games at Portland, Golden State and Denver .
Their first game at home off that trip will be against the Jazz (6 p.m. CT, Feb. 20) at FedExForum.
And now there are . . . maybe eight?
The Grizzlies lost four players to the Utah Jazz. The four Jazz players coming from the trade are not likely to be available for Memphis' game against Sacramento.
