Former All-Pro offensive lineman Jason Kelce praises Pittsburgh Steelers third-round pick Gennings Dunker.
The phrase "looks the part" gets thrown around often during the NFL Draft process. It's typically used to describe prospects whose size and physical traits match what teams are looking for at their position.
For the Pittsburgh Steelers , that phrase applies and then some to third-round pick Gennings Dunker.
Former All-Pro center Jason Kelce offered a fitting description of Dunker on the New Heights podcast.
"He looks like a Clydesdale," Kelce said. "If you were gonna design an offensive lineman in a laboratory, this is what he'd look like."
Dunker's appearance and personality have made him one of the more recognizable offensive line prospects from this year's class. Offensive linemen often carry a rugged, blue-collar image, but Dunker has taken that to another level.
Throughout the pre-draft process, he gained traction on social media for a variety of reasons, from past clips of him winning a hay bale throwing competition to his mullet at the NFL Combine and comments at the Senior Bowl about his high-calorie diet.
However, the attention surrounding Dunker isn't limited to his off-field persona. During his time at Iowa, Dunker backed it up with production, earning a 90.4 Pro Football Focus grade in 2025. He was widely viewed as a Day 2 value selection due to his physicality and consistency in the run game.

Dunker also capitalized on his growing profile, securing endorsement deals with brands such as Head & Shoulders and Buffalo Wild Wings ahead of the draft.
While he primarily played tackle in college, Dunker is expected to transition inside to guard at the NFL level, a move that could better maximize his strength and power.
The Steelers have a long history of embracing players with personality, and Dunker's arrival adds another layer to that tradition, especially in a city known for it's blue collared ways. Former Pittsburgh wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster quickly became a fan favorite early in his career for his off-field presence, and Dunker has already begun to generate a similar level of interest.
For now, the focus will shift to how his physical tools translate to the next level. But if early impressions are any indication, Dunker has already made an impact before taking his first NFL snap.
