This week, Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr. spoke with Atlanta Falcons linebacker JD Bertrand.
In his interview with Easton Jr., Bertrand discussed his partnership with Guardian Sports and his recent donation of Guardian Caps to his alma mater, Blessed Trinity Catholic High School in Roswell, Georgia. He discussed his brief time as teammates with Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Alohi Gilman while at Notre Dame.
"Aesthetically, I think it's at least gotten sleeker. That's always nice, and I think there is a big stigma. Like in football, you want to feel the best and dress the best, and a lot of people think that's a big thing in the game. And so I think that part has definitely helped," said Bertrand. "As for other players, it's funny, I actually get a lot of questions, especially when I first started wearing it. I was one of the few in the league wearing it, and I mean, a lot of guys were just curious. I would say, and it's funny. A lot of guys also wear it in practice, but haven't really thought about wearing it in the game. I think this sparked some curiosity, and so I think it'll keep gaining more wearers over the next couple of years."
