The Chicago Bears beat the Seattle Seahawks 34-17 on Monday night, and the best story belonged to a player who had been on the roster for four days.
Defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons , acquired from the Tennessee Titans last Thursday, finished with six tackles, a sack, two tackles for loss and a pass breakup .

Quarterback Caleb Williams threw for 247 yards and a touchdown, and running back D'Andre Swift ran for three scores, UPI reported .
Seattle's fourth snap from scrimmage ended with Simmons getting to the quarterback for a sack . That's a loud start for someone who had three days to learn a new defense.
"You can feel his presence out there," Bears coach Ben Johnson said, according to USA TODAY .
Simmons said he kept reminding himself to "go out there and be me" as he ran out of the tunnel. Chicago sent 2027 and 2028 first-round picks plus a 2027 fourth-rounder to Tennessee, Yahoo Sports reported , and got Simmons and a 2028 fifth back. One game can't settle a price like that. It did show what the Bears thought they were buying.
Seattle's offense never got comfortable
The Bears intercepted Sam Darnold , sacked him three times and held Seattle to 1 for 11 on third down . They also won the ground game, 127 yards to 81, per UPI. Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught six passes for 118 yards, yet little else worked around him. Seattle's own site called it the team's worst loss since Mike Macdonald's first season , which was 2024.
Tight end Colston Loveland fumbled, and Seattle turned it into a touchdown. Yahoo called it about the only significant Chicago error of the night. Williams steered the Bears right back into the end zone.
He had opened the game with a 17-play, 80-yard touchdown drive, per UPI. "When the pressure's high, we want to be at our best," Johnson said, via Yahoo Sports .

The Bears have a week to decide how much more they'll add
Chicago is 6-2, its best start since 2012 , and has won three straight.
The NFL trade deadline is Nov. 10 at 4 p.m. ET , and CBS Sports reports the Bears are still interested in edge rusher Khalil Mack , who played in Chicago from 2018 to 2021.
For Seattle, the question is which team showed up. The defending champions are 4-4, and the Seahawks beat the Chiefs 20-3 eight days earlier .
"We lost in all three phases," Macdonald said, per ProFootballTalk .
The Seahawks have to prove the Chiefs game was the real version.
