Jets grab their QB of the future (and help) in latest 2027 mock draft
The dust is still settling on the 2026 NFL Draft. That hasn't stopped analysts from temporarily switching focus to next year's 2027 NFL Draft. Already being billed as a potentially historically impressive class, the New York Jets are equipped with three first-round picks.
Way-too-early 2027 NFL mock drafts have begun dropping around the media landscape. With the order being based on Super Bowl odds, the Jets select South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers at No. 4 overall in one recent scenario.
"LaNorris Sellers is a traits-first quarterback prospect who will probably generate back-and-forth debate next offseason," NFL Draft On Sports Illustrated wrote . "Sellers is big, strong, and athletic with a cannon for an arm. Pocket presence and general decision making must improve, but the upside and high-level tools are undeniable."
The Jets are probably hoping to land Arch Manning or Dante Moore at quarterback next year. Currently, the Arizona Cardinals and Cleveland Browns have worse Super Bowl odds than the Jets do. So in this scenario, it's the Cardinals and Browns who draft Manning and Moore.
Later at No. 15 overall, the Jets draft Oregon defensive tackle A'Mauri Washington . "The Jets have done a decent job adding defensive tackles since trading Quinnen Williams , but Washington would have more pass-rushing upside than anyone they've filled out the position with to date."
At No. 19, general manager Darren Mougey lands Oregon interior offensive lineman Iapani Laloulu . " If the Jets draft a quarterback early, they'll also have to strengthen the interior of their offensive line with one of their three first-round picks. Joe Tippmann is entering a contract year, but the flexible guard/center should be retained. Meanwhile Oregon center Iapani Laloulu is an easy evaluation as a multi-year starter with overwhelming power ."
Selecting Sellers at No. 4 overall would probably be subject to great debate. The South Carolina quarterback is entering a pivotal college football season. He could either establish himself as a first-round quarterback, or fall out of consideration altogether.
