- Jets' Josh Morrissey Day-to-Day With Upper-Body Injury, Won't Play Against Ducks
During the Winnipeg Jets ' thrilling 3-2 victory over the Colorado Avalanche this past Wednesday, defenseman Josh Morrissey suffered an upper-body injury while attempting to lay a hit on Colorado's T.J. Hughes.
Winnipeg head coach Scott Arniel revealed Friday that Morrissey is day-to-day but did not explain the extend of Morrissey's injury. Following the hit attempt, it appeared that Morrissey removed his right glove after the play, and could point to a wrist or hand issue. He was not on the ice for Friday's practice ahead of Winnipeg 's home game against the Anaheim Ducks and is unlikely to play.

The loss would be a significant one for the Jets as the 31-year-old had started the season hot, collecting three assists in his first four games. He has also been durable in recent years, missing no more than five games in each of the last seven seasons, and Winnipeg will hope to avoid a long-term absence.
The Calgary native is coming off a down year in which he recorded 55 points in 77 games, after topping the 60-point mark in each of the previous three seasons. This season was shaping up as a bounce-back campaign before the injury.
Haydn Fleury is expected to replace Morrissey in the lineup, slotting onto the bottom pairing with Tyrel Bauer. Winnipeg will also shuffle the rest of its blue line, with newcomer Mario Ferraro paired with Neal Pionk and Dylan Samberg and Dylan DeMelo skating together on the second pairing.
