The Jets signed former Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis to their practice squad Tuesday, reports Tom Pelissero of The Ringer and Netflix Sports. Pelissero added that he will replace Bailey Zappe , who is being released.
Levis, 27, was picked by the Titans in the second-round of the 2023 NFL Draft, starting nine games as a rookie before earning the starting spot in 2024. That September, he suffered a torn AC joint and elected to pursue season-ending surgery the following July, ending his 2025 run before it began. In his 12 games across 2024, he went 190 for 301 (63.1 percent) and tossed for 13 touchdowns en route to a 2-10 record.
He was cut from the Titans in August after the team drafted Cam Ward first overall.
After signing a futures contract with the Jets in January, Zappe was waived from the 53-man roster during preseason and then signed to the team's practice squad Sept. 1. Zappe completed 60.9 percent (14 of 23) of his passes this preseason, throwing for 135 yards and two interceptions across three appearances.
