Even through visible agony, Butler's words reflected his defiant spirit, refusing sympathy and masking pain with sharp humor.
The Warriors bench quickly surrounded him, with staff and teammates helping him to the locker room as Chase Center fell silent.
Golden State Warriors face major setback after Butler's injury
Medical evaluations after the game confirmed the worst: Butler had suffered a torn ACL, ruling him out indefinitely. The injury comes at a critical point in Golden State's season, as the franchise looks to maintain its push for the postseason under a revamped lineup that has relied heavily on Butler's leadership and defensive impact.

Since joining the Warriors, Butler had become a stabilizing force for a team transitioning beyond the Steph Curry era, averaging consistent numbers on both ends of the floor. His absence leaves a major void in the locker room, both as a scorer and as an emotional leader.
For Butler, the focus now turns to recovery, something he's faced before and conquered. And for Golden State, his gritty exchange with Hield serves as a reminder of the fire he brought to every possession, every challenge, and every battle. Even in injury, Jimmy Butler remains the definition of competitive spirit.
