This offseason the Minnesota Vikings have plenty of holes to fill . Right now they have a contingent down in Indianapolis making determinations as to which draft eligible prospects may be worth utilizing draft capital on.
One such spot for them to consider may be fullback. Decorated fan-favorite C.J. Ham is hanging up his cleats and saw a wonderful sendoff beating the Green Bay Packers in Week 18 .

Should the Vikings decide that they are going to backfill the role, J.J. McCarthy apparently has thoughts as to who they should target.

Max Bredeson wants to play for MN Vikings
After five seasons at Michigan, Max Bredeson is hoping to take his football future to the NFL. He was classified as a tight end with the Wolverines, but operated as a fullback. Having won a championship with Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy, it sounds like he believes there may be an in.

What exact pull McCarthy has after flopping as a draft prospect remains to be seen, but he can at least vouch for his former teammate. Bredeson played in 54 games while catching just 12 passes for 132 yards. He never recorded a rushing attempt.

In high school, Bredeson played quarterback and moved to the fullback position in college. That change clearly shows his athleticism and he has drawn interest from multiple teams during the NFL Combine.
Ranked as the best fullback in this class, it is expected that Bredeson will be taken in the late rounds. His brother, Ben, is a guard for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers . Max knows a thing or two about blocking as well, and his 85.2 grade from Pro Football Focus paces all offensive skill position players.

Kevin O'Connell has certainly not leaned heavily into the running game since taking over as the Minnesota Vikings head coach. He is however, one of a few teams that has utilized a fullback. With Ham gone, it's possible that Minnesota abandons that thought process.
If they want to take him, one of their four picks in the 6th and 7th round could do the trick. It's also entirely possible he sticks in Minnesota longer than former teammate J.J. McCarthy does.
