Former NBA star Joe Johnson has given his thoughts on the NBA team he would love to play for.
Johnson, now 45, retired from the NBA in 2022 after a career that saw him selected seven-times as an All-Star.
Now as a regular guest on Nightcap , he was asked about which team he would love to come out of retirement for, if he could.
Johnson named the LA Lakers , pointing to the impact he could have alongside Luka Doncic.
He said: "Put me over there with Luka. Put me over there with the snow-time Lakers. The way them boys putting pressure on, the game gonna be easy for your boy, you hear me.
"That man's averaging 16 points in the first quarter bro. He real."
Doncic putting together MVP campaign
Luka Doncic is a dream to play alongside for his current LA Lakers teammates, and is putting together his own MVP campaign.
The Slovenian superstar is averaging 35.8 points per game this season, dropping another 35 on the Toronto Raptors last night.
The Lakers are currently in fourth place in the West, with a 5-2 record for the season.
But the key? It just looks a little more fun with the Lakers this season, without the unspoken uncertainty over who would lead the team between Doncic and LeBron James.
Now with James moving on, everything is fitting about Doncic, and he is an attractive gravitational force for players to want to play alongside.
It's little wonder that Johnson picked them out as a team where he could have a big impact.
During his career, Johnson played for the Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns, Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Miami Heat, Utah Jazz, and Houston Rockets – but never the Lakers.
