- Joelinton sends message after Newcastle contract agreed
Joelinton has reacted to confirmation of a new contract at Newcastle after facing a tough start to life under Matthias Jaissle.
The 30-year-old is the last man standing in Newcastle's impressive starting midfield of recent years after the summer exits of Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali.

He was also closely linked to leaving St James' Park ahead of this campaign as Saudi Pro League sides registered an interest in his services.
Joelinton's pre-season injury blow put paid to a move away, and he has recently returned to full fitness to feature regularly under Jaissle for the first time.
The Magpies boss is relying on the Brazilian, one of his most experienced stars, to pull them out of the mire, with fans turning on Jaissle after their recent loss to Aston Villa.
He has taken to social media to send appreciation to another Newcastle player after the club confirmed some contract news on Tuesday.

Joelinton's own contract situation may need to be addressed soon, with his long-term deal signed back in 2024 set to expire in June 2028.
The Brazilian has struggled for form since returning, with yellow cards in each of his league appearances so far as Newcastle have been beaten by Coventry and Villa.
Jaissle could be tempted to promote more young stars to his first team to provide much-needed inspiration in the coming weeks, with 17-year-old midfielder Seldon primed to make an impact.
The club announced his first professional contract in an Instagram post on Tuesday, with Joelinton among those to leave a like as a form of congratulation.

Seldon has registered five goals and three assists in eight appearances for the Magpies' under-18s so far in this campaign.

Newcastle's home defeat to Villa on Saturday was met by a chorus of boos, which signified the current feeling towards Jaissle on Tyneside.
Joelinton was tasked with media duties following his first start of the campaign, and he urged supporters to stick by the manager as he compared him to former boss Eddie Howe.

He said: "I don't think it's different (to) the way we played with Eddie (Howe). Today we played sometimes with Nico (Gonzalez) dropping in a back three. But when he was forward, we play a 4-3-3. It's just when we defend, we go to a 4-4-2. You have to ask the manager. He's talked a lot about his principles and the way he wants to play. That's most important, it's not just the formation.
"He's (Jaissle) like everyone, disappointed. He wants to win, he's a winner. We did better than last time. Last time (against Coventry) was not enough. We did a step forward in terms of the way we play. But yes, it's still room for improvement. We need to work hard to, be better and we will do that."
It remains to be seen if the Brazilian still sees his long-term future at St James' Park, as he prepares to enter the final 18 months of his deal in January.
