Chelsea legend John Terry has offered his verdict on England 's chances of winning the World Cup this summer.
England are one of the favourites to win the tournament for the first time since 1966, but there are several other contenders.
Terry named Spain and France as the two biggest threats to Thomas Tuchel's side in the United States.
However, the former England defender still feels confident that the Three Lions can lift the Jules Rimet trophy.
Rather unsurprisingly, John Terry expects Harry Kane to be England's key player at the 2026 World Cup.
Keeping him fit for all eight games of the tournament will be one of Thomas Tuchel's main objectives.

Terry then highlighted England's need for pacey forwards to run beyond Kane to get the best out of him.
"100 per cent, I think we can win it. I think probably France and Spain are the favourites," Terry said on TikTok .
"I think if we keep Harry Kane fit, that's going to be vital to our success. Not only does he score goals, but he dictates football matches now. He drops a little bit deeper, so I think pace running behind is going to be key as well."
Marcus Rashford , Anthony Gordon and Bukayo Saka are all likely to fulfil that role at times throughout the World Cup.
One of the Premier League's greatest centre-backs in his playing days, Terry also appreciates England's defensive solidity under Tuchel.
A potential back four of Nico O'Reilly, John Stones , Marc Guehi and Reece James should be considered among the world's best.
"I think we have a great chance," Terry added. "Defensively, we're very good. We have players in the group coming off the back of really successful seasons.
"Players are full of confidence going into it. Some players haven't played many minutes, as well, so hopefully they're going to be fresh."
Terry's reasoning will give England supporters confidence heading into the tournament , which starts on Thursday.
England face Costa Rica in their final warm-up game on Wednesday before taking on Croatia in Group L next week.
